Complete Interview Prep: Foundations, GD & Domain Interviews is a beginner-level course that starts with the interview landscape itself - the formats you will actually meet, and what each one is testing. From there it works through self-assessment, goal setting and an interview preparation framework you apply to your own situation.

Module one is about being ready before the question arrives: verbal communication, body language and non-verbal signals, active listening and interview control, and managing interview anxiety. Module two turns to the questions themselves - opening statements, strengths and weaknesses, motivation, experience and situational questions, and how you close.

Answers are built with the STAR method and other structured frameworks, so the same approach carries into behavioral rounds, group discussions, domain-specific and technical questions, AI-led interview assessments, campus placements and competitive job interviews - including company-specific preparation and the more challenging scenarios.

02 Who it's for

Built for the interview you have coming up.

A beginner-level course, so it assumes no prior interview experience - only that you have one to prepare for.

Students

Preparing for your first rounds

You are heading into interviews for the first time and want a method rather than a list of tips to memorise.

Fresh graduates

Moving from academics to hiring

You can explain your projects, but not yet in the shape an interview panel is listening for.

Placement candidates

Campus placement season

Group discussions, aptitude rounds and panel interviews stacked into a few weeks - this is the preparation that spans them.

Domain interviews

Being tested on your subject

You know the material. The course is about structuring what you know when a domain-specific or technical question arrives.

Competitive roles

Interviewing where the bar is high

Multiple rounds, several formats, AI-led assessments in the mix - preparation that adapts to each of them.

Professionals

Preparing for the next opportunity

You interview rarely, so the skill is rusty. This rebuilds the communication and structure quickly.

03 What you'll learn

Four capabilities, in the order they build.

These are the learning outcomes Coursera lists for this course, word for word.

Strategy

Analyze interview types

Analyze interview types and develop tailored strategies for success across behavioral, technical, and domain-specific rounds.

Frameworks

Apply STAR and other frameworks

Apply STAR and other frameworks to structure compelling answers for both simple and complex interview questions.

Communication

Build interview confidence

Build confidence with effective verbal, non-verbal, and behavioral communication strategies for interviews.

Adaptability

Adapt to industries and companies

Adapt responses to diverse industries and company expectations, creating customized interview preparation plans.

1:1 coaching · optional add-on

Practise your answers with someone in the room.

Board Infinity 1:1 coaching pairs you with a practitioner who interviews people for a living - someone who can hear your answer and tell you where it loses the panel.

Book a demo session
  • A coach matched to your goal in 24 hours
  • A written preparation roadmap you keep
  • Sessions for as long as you want them

60-minute demo session · 100% refundable · no obligation to continue. Coaching is a separate Board Infinity service and is not part of the Coursera course.

Say it out loud first

Your answers rehearsed with a person, before the panel hears them.

Feedback on the specifics

Not "be more confident" - which sentence lost them, and what to say instead.

Aimed at your domain

What the rounds look like in your field, from someone who sits on them.

A plan, not a pep talk

A preparation schedule built around the dates you are actually interviewing.

05 Skills

Three skills Coursera lists, and the topics behind them.

This course has no software to install and no tool stack. What it builds is communication - so the skills are the deliverable.

Coursera skill

Communication Strategies

Verbal technique, body language and active listening - the mechanics of being understood under pressure.

Coursera skill

Adaptability

Reading the format in front of you and adjusting - behavioral, group discussion, domain, technical or AI-led.

Coursera skill

Persuasive Communication

Making the case for yourself with structure and evidence, so an answer is remembered rather than merely heard.

Course topics

Covered in the course

Storytelling, self-awareness, non-verbal communication, active listening, interview confidence and professional communication - taught as course topics, not listed as separate Coursera skill tags.

Course topics you practise

Grouped the way the two modules split: what you say, how you structure it, and how you prepare and deliver it. These are topics from the lesson list rather than additional official Coursera skill tags.

Interview communication

Module 1 - how you come across before content is even judged.

  • Verbal communication techniques
  • Body language and non-verbal communication
  • Active listening and interview control
  • Managing interview anxiety

Behavioral frameworks

Module 2 - the shape an answer takes before you speak it.

  • STAR and other structured frameworks
  • Opening statements and storytelling
  • Strengths, weaknesses and motivation
  • Experience and situational questions

Preparation & delivery

Across both modules - planning, self-awareness and presence.

  • Self-assessment and goal setting
  • The interview preparation framework
  • Posture, gestures and dressing for interviews
  • Virtual versus in-person presence

06 Career impact

The round that decides it is the one you can practise for.

Preparation does not guarantee an offer. What it changes is how much of the interview is left to chance - and these are the situations where that shows.

Where this preparation applies

Campus placements

Several formats compressed into a few weeks. A framework applied once carries across all of them.

Behavioral interviews

"Tell me about a time when..." stops being improvisation once STAR gives the answer a shape.

Group discussions

Active listening and interview control are what separate contributing from talking over people.

Domain-specific rounds

You know the subject. The course is about answering it in a structure the panel can follow.

Technical questions

Explaining your reasoning out loud is a communication task as much as a technical one.

AI-led interview assessments

Recorded and automated rounds reward clear structure, steady pacing and deliberate delivery.

The honest comparison

Interview advice is free everywhere. So what is this?

Every topic in this course exists somewhere for free, and plenty of that advice is good. What a structured course adds is an order to work through, assessments that tell you whether it landed, and coverage of the formats you did not think to search for. This is a comparison of approaches, not a claim that other preparation does not work.

08 FAQ

Common questions

Everything learners ask before enrolling, answered plainly.

About the course

Students, fresh graduates and professionals preparing for placements, domain interviews and competitive job interviews. It is a beginner-level course, so no prior interview experience is assumed - only that you have interviews coming up.

The course prepares you for behavioral interviews, group discussions, domain-specific rounds, technical questions and AI-led interview assessments, alongside campus placements and competitive job interviews.

Module two works through the questions behavioral rounds are built from - your opening statement, strengths, weaknesses and motivation, experience and situational questions, and how you close - and uses the STAR method and other structured frameworks to give each answer a shape you can reuse.

Yes. Group discussions are one of the formats the course prepares you for, and the module one lessons on active listening and interview control, verbal communication and non-verbal signals are what a group discussion is assessing.

They are included as formats the course prepares you for - the strategy, structure and communication side of technical questions and domain-specific rounds. The course does not teach the technical subject matter of any particular domain.

Yes - campus placement preparation is part of how the course is positioned, and the formats it covers are the ones placement season stacks together: group discussions, behavioral rounds and domain-specific interviews.

Content and frameworks

The STAR method and other structured frameworks for building compelling answers to both simple and complex questions, plus an interview preparation framework in module one that you apply to your own goals and timeline.

Module one has dedicated lessons on verbal communication techniques, body language and non-verbal communication, active listening and interview control, and managing interview anxiety. Module two adds delivery: posture and hand gestures, dressing for interviews, and the differences between virtual and in-person body language.

The course syllabus lists practice assessments, graded assessments, readings, discussion prompts and plugins rather than live mock interviews. If you want to rehearse answers with a person, Board Infinity's 1:1 coaching is a separate, optional service.

Coursera lists three skills for this course: Communication Strategies, Adaptability and Persuasive Communication. Alongside them the course covers storytelling, self-awareness, non-verbal communication, active listening, interview confidence and professional communication as course topics.

Time, access and enrollment

7 hours to complete, across 2 modules. The schedule is flexible and you learn at your own pace, so you can spread it across evenings or work through it in a weekend.
