My Journey as a Fresher to Becoming a Data Engineer at Genpact

My Early Career Journey
My name is Sourabh Tikekar. I am from Nagpur, Maharashtra.
My passions are programming languages and ethical hacking, and I hold more than 35 certifications. In 2019, I graduated from the IEC University in Himachal Pradesh with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications.
Keeping up with what's going on in the world is something that keeps me informed. I kept coming across the term "Data Science" every time I checked news websites. Upon researching, I discovered its growing importance in the market and how it provided ample opportunities for the young generation. My curiosity was piqued and I wanted to learn more. After becoming acquainted with this field, I developed an interest in it and eventually decided to pursue a career in it.
In order to become skilled in an area that is high in value and relevance, I enrolled in Board Infinity's Learning Path in Data Science course. Considering the live assistance offered by Board Infinity, it seemed like the most effective way to be a part of learning the new way. Therefore, I registered for the course in August 2021.
Learning with Board Infinity
Board Infinity provided me with excellent coaching by industry experts, which made my experience extremely rewarding. The coaches provided us with valuable insights into the industry as well as relevant skills and methods used by the companies.
Live sessions with Board Infinity were the best part of being coached. Working on my strengths and weaknesses during the live sessions helped me with the live projects that helped me develop a comprehensive understanding of the Data Science modules. Having live discussions with mentors was very helpful in learning with great indulgence. It was very helpful to have the doubt sessions and these sessions ensured that we received the attention we needed.
Placement Journey
Even though I have only completed my 4th module out of 6 modules, my program managers have shared a job opportunity with me with Genpact. Based on the current knowledge I have gained, I sat for the interview for the role of Data Engineer. During the interview process, there were two rounds - technical and communication, both of which I passed and got the job with a handsome package.
Thanks to Board Infinity for allowing me to work on live projects. The course gave me an understanding of how things work in large organizations, and I was able to pass the interview. My program managers also helped me greatly by helping me build my resume according to the needs of the industrial sector as well as scheduling my classes according to my schedule preferences.
It is my first job ever and I am thankful to Board Infinity for this opportunity.
The field of Data Science is a great one to pursue. As companies continue to produce data, the scope for Data Scientists will only increase. It was one of the reasons I chose to pursue a career in this direction, and now that this job has come my way, I am extremely happy with my decision.
Genpact is a big organization, to start my career from here will only bear fruits in the future. In the long run, I have to pursue Data Science in-depth and I have plans for Ph.D. from abroad and I am looking forward to making an illustrious career in this field.
