Program 02 · MBA · Between year one and two

The summer internship is a ten-week interview. Train for it that way.

Most students treat SIP as a compliance box. Recruiters treat it as an audition. This program covers the gap - six workshops, six buddy-mentoring sessions and a 1:1 report review - so your students walk out with a pre-placement offer, not just a certificate.

01 Who this is for

Three people care about SIP conversion. All three get something here.

The internship is the only point in an MBA where a student is inside a hiring company with months to prove themselves. Conversion is coachable.

Placement Chairperson

PPO conversion, tracked

A named process from pre-assessment to final presentation, with conversion reported cohort-wide rather than anecdotally.

T&P Officer

A cohort you can schedule

Batches that fit the timetable, with RAG dashboards naming exactly who needs intervention.

Student

Someone in your corner all summer

A mentor across six sessions while the internship is live - not a workshop in April and silence until August.

03 The workshops

Six workshops, 18–20 hours.

Each one has a stated objective and a fixed topic list. This is the plan, not a theme.

01 · SIP to PPO guidance

How the PPO process and its criteria actually work; what organisations expect during an internship; strategies for consistent performance and visibility; building and keeping professional relationships with mentors and team members; taking feedback in a way that demonstrates growth.

02 · Professional conduct

Workplace ethics and integrity, time management and prioritisation, adapting to corporate culture, conflict resolution and professionalism under pressure, punctuality, dress code and communication.

03 · Impact on SIP

Setting realistic and impactful internship goals, identifying KPIs for the project, aligning personal and team goals with organisational objectives, showing initiative and leadership on assigned tasks.

04 · Presentations & storytelling

Structuring a compelling presentation, visual storytelling, presenting with clarity and confidence, handling Q&A, and the mechanics of body language, tone and delivery.

05 · Reporting & email etiquette

Structuring clear and concise reports, formatting professional email with the right tone, best practice for weekly and monthly updates to supervisors, highlighting achievements and challenges, and the CC/BCC/subject-line/follow-up conventions that quietly signal seniority.

06 · Mastering SIP project domains

The projects students actually get - inside sales, market research, data analysis - with worked examples, the deliverables each domain expects, and the tools and techniques to execute them.

04 The mentoring

Six sessions, 1:5, while the internship is live.

Group-of-five buddy mentoring runs through the internship itself - the point where generic pre-training stops being useful.

Session 1 · Understanding the task and roadmap

Clarifying project objectives and deliverables, aligning internship goals with longer-term career aspirations, and structuring a six-month timeline of tasks and milestones.

Sessions 2–4 · Guidance and doubt-solving

Reviewing project progress, working through technical, professional and interpersonal blockers, tuning the approach against supervisor feedback, and spotting skill-building opportunities while the internship is still running.

Sessions 5–6 · Project completion, report and deck

Reviewing the final project for completeness and quality, structuring and drafting the internship report, building a professional deck, and rehearsing the presentation.

1:1 final report evaluation

Thirty to forty-five minutes per student: a detailed review of content, format and insight in the final report, feedback on what to fix, and personal guidance on delivering the presentation, handling audience questions and foregrounding a unique contribution.

05 The AI layer

Resumes checked against the actual job description.

Infy Resume JD keyword match - the resume’s strongest achievements alongside matched keywords (React, JavaScript, HTML, Node.js) and missing keywords
Infy Resume JD keyword match - the resume’s strongest achievements alongside matched keywords (React, JavaScript, HTML, Node.js) and missing keywords

Students apply for internships with one generic resume. Infy Resume scores it against the JD they are actually targeting and names the gap - which turns a vague “improve your resume” into a specific edit.

  1. Achievements, ranked

The tool surfaces what a recruiter will notice first, so the strongest line goes at the top.

  2. Matched keywords

Terms from the job description the resume already evidences.

  3. Missing keywords

The specific gaps to close before applying - the single highest-yield edit a student can make.

10 Questions deans ask

Straight answers.

When should SIP training start?
Before the internship, not during it. Pre-assessment, profiling, resume work and the domain bootcamps run ahead of the placement drive; the six workshops run just before students leave; mentoring runs through the internship itself.
Why does mentoring run at 1:5 rather than 1:1?
Because at that ratio students learn from each other’s internship problems as well as their own - five students in five different companies surface five sets of real blockers. The 1:1 time is reserved for the final report and presentation, where individual feedback matters most.
What counts as a good SIP conversion rate?
It varies sharply by recruiter mix, so we baseline against your own last two years rather than an industry number. What we commit to is the process: every student gets a mentor while the internship is live and a reviewed report before they present.
Can this run for a 300-student batch?
Yes - that is the scoped batch size. The cohort is split into four groups for workshops and into groups of five for mentoring.
Do you cover the domains our students actually intern in?
The bootcamps cover consulting, finance, sales and marketing, operations and product management, and the workshops explicitly cover inside sales, market research and data analysis - the three most common SIP project types.
